Dearest you

In faintly scented old letters
I'll trace the words you wrote long ago
And let the tender humor and affection
Cool my heart's fever at your absence

And as the familiar scent of you rises
To enfold me, I can't help but feel your nearness
As I wrap my memories of you around me
And fall into past yearnings and broken dreams

The bridges have all been burned
And you're no longer by my side
But I'll still think of you when I dance
To the intricate steps I learned

Though your arms are no longer here to guide me
I'll chant every prayer I can think off
To keep that smile upon your face
And I'll wish for you peace and joy

I'll think of you in the dark silence
Of brooding contemplations
And when the piano plays soft notes
That drop like delicate glass upon the floor

When I lay down my weary head
And feel you wandering in my dreams
I hope that you know that I kept you
In a space where no one can ever hope to replace

My heart keeps you
My thoughts keep you
My prayers keep you
Dearest you,
Always you…

When love is lost, do not bow your head in sadness; instead keep your head up high and gaze at the stars for that is where your broken heart has been sent to heal..!

We should gather strength from sadness and from pain.. each time we die we learn to live again..

The walls we build around us to keep sadness out, also keeps out the joy..

so smile and live to love, not love to live..

cheers.. :)

Thats a beautiful line u just wrote. I think its gorgeous that a heart could be healed with stars.

The poem wasn't meant to be sad, just bittersweet fond rememberence of old friends :)
